Bhubaneswar: The IMD Bhubaneswar centre here has issued thunderstorm and hail alert for at least 10 districts of Odisha till 12.45 PM on Friday.
In its weather forecast bulletin which was issued this morning, the meteorological centre has also warned people against venturing out of their home during the onslaught of the thunderstorm by informing that the wind speed could reach 50-60 kmph. People have been been told to take shelter at safe places to avoid any eventuality.
Latest Doppler weather radar and satellite imageries indicate that the thunderstorm accompanied with hail and gusty surface wind speed reaching 50 to 60 kmph likely to occur over the districts Puri, Ganjam, Jagatsinghpur, Kendrapara, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Nuapara, Bolangir Kalahandi and Kandhamal between 11 HRS IST and to 12.45 HRS IST, an IMD bulletin issued by its Regional Centre here said.
