Bhubaneswar: The IMD Regional Centre here has issued a rainfall and thunderstorm warning for at least 13 districts of Odisha till 4.30 PM today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT Department, districts like Kendrapara, Jagatsinghpur, Jajpur, Cuttack, Khordha including Bhubaneswar, Puri, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Kalahandi, Nabarangpur, Koraput and Malkangiri are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall accompanied by lightning from 1.30 PM to 4.30 PM.
The Weatherman also predicted Moderate thunderstorm with gusty surface wind speed reaching 30-40 KMPH during the alerted period.
As a precautionary measure people in these district have been cautioned against venturing out of home and advised to take shelter in safe places till 4.30 PM to avoid eventuality.
