IMD issues lightning, thunderstorm and rain alert for 6 Odisha districts

Bhubaneswar: The IMD regional centre here has issued a lightning, thunderstorm and rain warning for at least six districts of Odisha.

As per the latest Nowcast of the IMC issued this afternoon, spells of moderate rainfall along with thunderstorm and lightning are likely to occur in districts like Koraput, Rayagada, Balangir, Malkangiri, Mayurbhanj and Sundergarh till 8.30 PM.

People in the alerted districts have been cautioned against venturing out of their homes and advised to take shelter in safe places to avoid any possible eventuality.
