Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) Regional Centre here has issued a lightning and rainfall alert for at least 6 districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT Department districts like Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Koraput, Malkangiri and Kalahandi are likely to experience lightning and rainfall at one or two places till 11 am.
In view of the approaching extreme weather conditions people in the alerted districts have been cautioned against moving out of their homes and advised to take shelter in safe places to avoid any eventuality.
