Bhubaneswar: With denizens already suffering rain woes in the State, the IMD Regional Centre here has issued a lightning alert for at least 15 districts of Odisha today.
As per the latest Nowcast of the MeT Department, districts like Kandhamal, Bolangir, Nuapada, Kalahandi, Boudh, Sonepur, Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Cuttack, Khurda, Ganjam and Nayagarh are likely to experience moderate thundershower and lighting accompanied by one or two spells of intense rainfall till 1.30 pm today.
People in the alerted districts have been cautioned against moving out of their homes and advised to stay at safe places to avoid any kind of eventualities.
Earlier, the Weatherman had predicted heavy rain across Odisha starting from today due to the concentration of a cyclonic circulation over the south-east Bay of Bengal into a low-pressure area.
