IMD Forecasts Nor’Wester Rain In Odisha For 2 Days From March 4

Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued Nor’Wester (Kalbaisakhi) rain alert in Odisha for three days, starting from March 4. According to the forecast, weather in the state will remain dry on March 1 and 2. However, light to moderate rain will lash parts of northern, coastal and interior belts of Odisha from March 3.

According to the regional MeT department, light rain or thundershower is likely to occur at one or two places in Angul, Boudh, Balangir, Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Nayagarah, Ganjam, Nuapada, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Sonepur, Mayurbhanj and Bargarh districts from March 3.

Furthermore, moderate rainfall or thundershower is likely to occur at a few places in north coastal districts and at one or two places south coastal and north interior Odisha on March 4.

Lightning and thunderstorm, accompanied by gusty winds may be experienced in northern coastal Odisha and the north interior districts of Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar and Dhenkanal.

Due to rainfall in some coastal and southern pockets in the last few days, there has been a marginal fall in temperature in the state. The regional MeT department stated that ‘Kalbaisakhi’ or Nor’Wester rain will continue in Odisha till March 6.
