IMD Forecasts Heavy Rainfall In Odisha Due To Low Pressure In Bay Of Bengal

Bhubaneswar: The regional centre of the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall across the state due to the formation of a low-pressure system over northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood.

“Under the influence of the cyclonic circulation over north Bay of Bengal off West Bengal coast, a low-Pressure Area has formed over northeast Bay of Bengal and neighbourhood. It is likely to become more marked and concentrate into a Depression during the next 48 hours,” a bulletin released by the IMD said.

The MeT department also forecasted that westward movement of the low-pressure system may trigger heavy rainfall with isolated very heavy and extremely heavy rainfall across Odisha from June 30 to July 1.
