Illicit liquor manufacturing unit sealed, 2 bootleggers held in Balasore

Balasore: Tightening the noose around the necks of bootleggers ahead of polls, Excise officials today raided and sealed an unauthorised liquor manufacturing unit in Sahukhurda village under Simulia police limits in Balasore.

At least two persons were taken into custody during the raid.

The raid was conducted by a joint team of Excise flying squads from Balasore and Cuttack in the morning based on a tip-off received earlier. During the raid the officials found huge cache of illicit liquor along with machinery used in brewing and packaging and seized those.

While the liquor production unit has been sealed after the raid, Excise officials are interrogating the held persons extract more information on the illegal business.
