Anandapur: In a major crackdown on wood mafia, forest officials intercepted a vehicle and arrested a smuggler while he was transporting wood on Sainkul-Pandua road under Anandapur sub-division in Keonjhar district.
The wood is worth lakhs, reports said. The raid was conducted by forest officials following a tip-off. The officials arrested a man and intercepted his vehicle bearing registration number OD-22P-4803.
A man has been arrested in this connection while the seized wood laden vehicle has been detained at the forest range office. The forest department officials have launched further probe in this regard.
