Bhadrak: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal timber traders, Forest Department officials raided a sawmill which was operating discreetly in Basudevpur area today and seized logs worth lakhs.
Acting upon a tip-off on the sawmill located near Basudevpur Women’s College a team of officials launched the raid this morning. During the raid the officials came across logs and sawn wood worth lakhs stored at the sawmill and seized those.
A number of machinery and wood cutting equipment were also found from the spot and got seized.
While the officials have sealed the mill efforts are underway to trace its owner who managed to escape ahead of the raid.
