Cuttack: An illegal gun trader was arrested Choudwar area of Cuttack today. Police also seized a gun and ammunition from his possession.
While patrolling today, Sub-Inspector of Choudwar Police Station, K.M Bhuyan and his staff received credible information that one person is moving on Bonika Road near Birupa Bridge of Choudwar in a suspicious manner possessing some suspicious articles with him.
Based on this information, the police team conducted a raid and caught red-handed one person namely Loken Guru. On search, one pistol was made in USA, and two 9 MM live ammunition were seized from him.
Guru was asked to produce any valid documents for possessing the arms and ammunition but he could not produce any legal documents.
As the possession of the pistol and live ammunition are illegal and prohibited in nature SI D.K.M Bhuyan seized them. The accused, who was forwarded to the court, also confessed that he is regularly dealing with the selling of illegal arms.
As many as nine cases are pending against him at different police stations, said sources.
Further investigation of the case is underway.
