Kandhamal: Daringbadi police on Saturday busted an illegal gun-manufacturing unit inside a forest near Dandima village under Daringbadi police limits in Odisha’s Kandhamal district.
One person was arrested in this connection, police said adding that two persons however managed to flee from the spot.
The arrested person has been identified as Kuna Pradhan(35) of Gunjit village, police told journalists.
Acting on a tip-off, the police conducted searches inside the forest and located the unit. Huge cache of materials was being seized from the spot. They include two SBML gun, one wooden frame of a gun, one blower, Two piece of gun mechanisms , three iron hamper with wooden handle , seven number of file , two number of aari plate, one rolling wheel(agra), four number of seni in different size, one iron randaa, one iron plate (cut piece of railway line), one plash one screwdriver, forty numbers of small shells (bronze) which to be used as ammunition, two number of iron rod, oil and gun powder.
A case has been registered against the accused under section 25 Arms Act and other relevant sections of IPC, police said.
