Bhadrak: Puruna Bazar police on Friday busted an illegal firecracker manufacturing unit near Haladi Diha bypass road here in Odisha, a day before Diwali festival.
The Police arrested one person in this connection. The accused has been identified as Gora Khan of the locality. He has been making and selling firecrackers illegally for a long period of time, police said.
Police also seized large quantity of explosives to be used for making firecrackers from the spot.
The seized haul of products included gun powder, pottas, metal black powder, iron dust, earthen pots and a large quantity of empty packets of crackers.
Investigation has begun to ascertain from where the raw material was being supplied to Khan, police said.
