Illegal Encroachment Demolished At Kalinga Nagar

Bhubaneswar: A joint enforcement team consisting officers and staffs of Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA), Bhubaneswar Municipal Corporation (BMC) and Commissionerate Police today removed unauthorised encroachments over the median near K-7 bus stop at Kalinga Nagar under Khandagiri police limits.

The team evicted 25 numbers of cabins, seven food stalls, four road-side restaurants, five bamboo sheds with polythene cover, five asbestos houses, four under construction houses and 12 signboards during the demolition drive.

BMC officials said that two excavators were engaged for the drive and no untoward incident took place during the eviction process. “The requisition for the eviction was made by Deputy Commissioner, BMC on June 4. Similarly, we also demolished unauthorised construction near Unit IV market today,” said a BMC official.
