Cuttack: In a major crackdown on illegal firecracker units in the district, the Commissionerate Police today conducted a raid in Trilochanpur village and seized around 13 tractors of firecrackers. At least 4 persons were taken into custody from the spot.
Informing on the step Cuttack DCP Akhileshwar Singh said, a police team led by ACP Trinath Mishra took part in the raid which started this morning. The team found a number of firecracker manufacturing units operating in the village without valid licenses and sealed those, he added.
Police have sealed the entry and exit points of the village to maintain law and order situation following the raid.
Notably, the police have turned very cautious after a couple died while preparing firecrackers in their house in Balipatna area near Jatni on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar a few days back.
