Illegal bar raided in Ganjam, foreign liquor seized, 2 bootleggers held

Berhampur: Tightening the noose around the contraband liquor dealers, police today raided an illegal bar which was operating in Digapahandi area in Ganjam district and seized huge cache of foreign liquor.

Acting upon a tip-off Digapahandi Police conducted a raid on the liquor bar which was operating without a valid license in Dengaosta area, this morning. During the search, cops found 56.54 litres of foreign liquors from the spot and seized them.

Police also seized cash worth Rs 16,500 along with a fridge from the spot.

The owners of the bar identified as Balakrushna Bisoyi and Bishnu Dora have been taken into custody for running the bar without permission and their interrogation is underway.
