Balasore: Launching a crackdown on the illegal trade of acid in Balasore district, police seized a huge cache of acetic acid by raiding a bus in Basta area.
Acting upon a tip-off on the acid consignment en-route to Dhamara from Kolkata in a bus namely ‘Nigam’ (Registration Number-OD 01 X 1575) last night, Basta Police launched a raid late last night.
After intercepting the bus on National Highway-60 the cops found several jars of Acetic Acid and seized those. Later, 3 persons carrying the consignment were taken into custody.
Police have lodged a case in connection with the incident and interrogation of the held accused is underway.
