Bhubaneswar: The identity of the woman with the severed head who had been killed in the Andharua area of Bhubaneswar on February 4 has been revealed by the police today.
The deceased has been identified as Puspalata Roul she was 28-years-old. The deceased woman is a resident of Dhirkut slum area in Bhubaneswar revealed the police.
The two accused have been identified as Sanjay and Chandu they belong to Ganjam. Sanjay strangled Puspalata to death on February 3 and later dumped the body with the help of Chandu on February 4.
After killing Puspalata, the two accused took the body to a forest near Daspur in an SUV and chopped off the head before fleeing.
Preliminary investigations reveal an extra-marital affair angle in the murder said, Police Commissioner Sudhanshu Sarangi.
Police has revealed that, the woman was first strangulated to death and then beheaded. The murder had taken place in Bhubaneswar.
