Balangir: In a Vigilance Operation today, Kuni Naik, the ICDS Supervisor, Roth Sector and I/c Bharsuja Sector under Agalpur Block, Dist-Bolangir was apprehended by Odisha Vigilance for demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.19,800/- (Rupees Nineteen Thousand Eight Hundred) from 6 Anganwadi Workers out of the contingency and other funds received by them for running the Anganwadi Centres.
Based on the above complaint, a trap was laid wherein the accused was caught by the team of Odisha Vigilance in the Anganwadi Centre, Panesara-B under Agalpur Block while demanding and accepting undue advantage (bribe) of Rs.19,800/- (Rupees Nineteen Thousand Eight Hundred) from the complainant.
The entire bribe money was recovered from the possession of the accused and seized in presence of witnesses. Both hands wash of Naik gave positive chemical reaction, confirming acceptance and handling of bribe money by her.
Following the trap, search has been launched on the residential house of Naik at Mandiapadar, Loisingha Block, Dist-Bolangir. In this connection, Sambalpur Vigilance P.S. Case No.24 dated 11.07.2022 U/s 7 PC Act, 1988 as amended by PC (Amendment) Act, 2018 has been registered and is under investigation.
