Ganjam: A woman has been allegedly suffocated to death by her husband in Sorishabili village under Sorada police limits in Ganjam district of Odisha on Wednesday night.
The deceased has been identified as Rinki Swain, daughter of Hina Swain of Badagada village.
According to reports, two years ago Rinki was married to Dharmendra Swain, son of Jayram Swain of Sorishabili village. The couple were fighting regularly over family dispute and Dharmendra also used to beat Rinki in an inebriated state.
On Wednesday night, Rinki’s father was informed about her death by her in-laws following which he reached her in-law’s house and found her dead.
Rinki’s family immediately reported about the incident with Sorada police station.
On getting the information, the cops arrived at the spot and detained Dharmendra Swain for further questioning.
Rinki’s family have alleged that she has been killed by her in-laws. The cause of the death will be ascertained after the post mortem procedure.
