Hundreds Of People Flout Covid restrictions during Football Match, Dance Performance In Odisha (Watch)

Koraput: Defying Covid guidelines, hundreds of people gathered to watch a football match following a dance performance at Kanchana village under Lamtaput block in Koraput district on Sunday. The video of the incident has gone viral.

In the video, it can be seen that the place was jam packed with people during the football match and the performance in the vicinity and people were not maintaining any social distancing norms and many of them were even not wearing any masks.

The people were  enjoying the dance performance and clicking photographs with their mobile phones. It can also be seen that not only ordinary people even some public leaders, government servants and police personnel had also participated in the program.

Notably, the football match was going on for the last week without the permission of the Government authorities and today was the final match. But the police of the area has not even tried to stop the match or controlled the crowd.

Macchkund Police Station CI Prafulla Kumar Lakra has admitted that although they were aware about the crowd flouting Covid-19 guidelines during the match and the cultural program. But there were too many people to initiate any action.

The SP has directed for a probe into the matter and has sought a detailed report.
