Malkangiri: The security personnel recovered a huge haul of explosives concealed under a stone pile in Malkangiri district of Odisha ahead of Republic Day celebrations.
According to reports, a joint team of the Border Security Force (BSF) and the Malkangiri District Police, acting on specific input, conducted a combing operation and unearthed a Maoist camp near Totaguda in the district. They also recovered seven improvised explosive devices (IEDs) and explosive material from the spot and defused them.
It is suspected that the red rebels were planning to use explosives to attack the security personnel and cause damage ahead of Republic Day on January 26.
