Athagarh: Police on Tuesday seized a huge cache of Indian-made foreign liquor worth more than Rs 1 lakh during raid in Athagarh of Cuttack district in Odisha and arrested one person in this connection.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Athagarh Police conducted raid at a rented house in Nuabandha area of Athagarh and seized 47 cases of India made foreign liquor. The seized liquor will be worth more than Rs 1 lakh, Police said.
A case has been registered under the relevant section of Odisha Excise Act and the investigation is underway, Police said.
It is to be noted that few days back 100 cases of India made foreign liquor had been seized in Banki area in Cuttack district. Police is probing the case to find out from where such huge amount of liquor was brought.
