Sambalpur: The Hirakud Dam authorities opened 2 more sluice gates to release the excess flood water on Saturday.
At present, 30 sluice gates have been opened to release the excess flood water and due to continuous rainfall in the upper catchment the water level are rising insistently.
The people living in low-lying areas have been warned not to venture into the river. Heavy rainfall across Odisha has caused severe flooding.
