Bhubaneswar: High drama unfolded in the Odisha assembly today as a Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) MLA tried to consume poison and attempted to commit suicide.
The Deogarh MLA Subash Panigrahi, attempted to commit suicide when Ranendra Pratap Swain the Food Supplies and Consumer Welfare, Co-operation Minister was answering a question raised in the Assembly.
The other ministers present in the assembly however immediately stopped him from doing so.
The MLA had earlier warned that he would commit suicided if the paddy procurement issue was not solved.
