New Delhi: Muktikant Biswal, who walked around 1400 km to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi from Odisha’s Rourkela, sat on dharna at Jantar Mantar at around 8 AM today.

He sat on dharna after he failed to get appointment from the Prime Minister’s Office.

He had earlier sought permission from the Sansad Marg police to stage dharna at Jantar Mantar but his application was rejected. His letter seeking permission for demonstration at Ramlila Ground was also turned down.

He had also requested Union Minister Jual Oram, who represents Sundergarh Lok Sabha constituency, to help him to meet the PM, but the latter also rejected.

An idol maker by profession, Biswal, with Indian national flag, had begun his walk from Rourkela on April 16 to remind the PM about the promise he had made to upgrade the Ispat General Hospital (IGH) to a super-specialty hospital and construction of second bridge over Brahmani river while addressing a crowd in the Steel City on April 1, 2015. Unfortunately, nothing has been done yet.
