Baripada: The helper of a cattle-laden mini truck was killed after it hit a road block bar near Sagunabasa canal under Baripada Sadar Police Station area in Mayurbhanj district on Tuesday.
The deceased has been identified as Suruju Behera of Jugala village under Baisinga police limits of the same district.
As per the report, the mishap took place this morning while the driver of the Tata Ace mini truck which was carrying cattle illegally to Baripada lost control and ended up hitting a road block bar. Suruju, who was boarding the vehicle at the time of the incident sustained critical head injury in the crash and died on the spot.
After the driver of the mini truck drove away following the incident, some locals called up Sadar Police which rushed the body for autopsy after reaching the spot.
Police have lodged a case in the incident and started investigation.
