Helmet made mandatory for pillion riders too

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha government has made it mandatory for pillion riders on two-wheelers to wear helmet from today. Pillion riders not wearing helmets will be fined.

Chief Secretary Aditya Prasad Padhi announced about the new regulation at the State Secretariat and said that any ASI rank officer could inspect and crack down on the violators.

The move comes after the increasing number of road mishaps in the state.

Helmets have already been made mandatory for drivers of two-wheelers.
