Helmet Drive To Be Stricter From April In Odisha, Stringent Action Against Violators

Bhubaneswar: The helmet drive will become stricter in Odisha from April 1. The violators will be heavily penalized and their driving license (DL) will be cancelled.

The order has been issued by the Chief Secretary to implement this special drive for a month.

An action plan will be prepared in order to reduce the road accidents. Audits will be conducted in various aspects of road safety.

The district collectors have been directed to install CCTV cameras at the black spot areas in their respective districts. They have also been directed to take initiative to reduce road accidents by 10 percent.

The meeting held for the road safety measures was chaired by Chief Secretary and was attended by the Superintendent of Police (SP) along with the district collectors.
