Helmet Compulsory For Pillion Rider In Odisha From Today

Bhubaneswar: The traffic rule of wearing helmet for both riders and pillion riders will be strictly implemented across Odisha from today.

Driving licence will be suspended if both the rider and pillion do not wear helmets on their two-wheelers.

A two-wheeler rider driving Licence (DL) will be suspended for a period of three months if found riding the vehicle without helmet.

On December 5, State transport authority (STA) said that driving licence will be suspended if both the rider and pillion do not wear helmets.

Though the government was trying to implement this amended MV Act from March, but the Covid-19 situation and lockdown changed the entire scenario.
