Heavy rains in Twin City of Odisha; Yellow warning for 17 districts

The twin city of Odisha received heavy rains along with thunderstorm on Saturday morning under the influence of western disturbance. 

Bhubaneswar: The twin city of Odisha, Bhubaneswar and Cuttack, and other parts of the state have received heavy rains along with thunderstorm and lighting on Saturday morning under the influence of a western disturbance.

Many parts of the state has also witnessed heavy rains along with thunderstorm yesterday as well. The rain has impacted the traffic movement and daily life of public.

Due to the impact of the western disturbance, some parts of Dhenkanal district has received heavy rain and hailstorm with gusty wind at a speed of 40 to 50 km per hour.

Meanwhile, the Regional Meteorological Center has issued an orange warning to Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Balasore, Jajpur, Cuttack and Dhenkanal districts for heavy rain. These districts will likely receive 7 cm to 11 cm rain today. Similarly, yellow warning has been issued to 17 districts for today. The Regional Meteorological Center has informed that there is a possibility of light to moderate rain in different parts of the state till the morning of April 5. Another westerly storm is likely tomorrow.
