Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) on Monday said heavy rainfall or thunderstorm with lightning is very likely to occur across Odisha till October 20.
It is noteworthy that, a fresh low pressure area has formed over West Bengal and North-Odisha. As per the IMD, the low pressure has been formed under the influence of a cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbouring area.
Heavy rainfall or thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur at isolated places in Odisha on Monday. Only thunderstorm with lightning is likely to occur tomorrow, the IMD said.
“Under the influence of cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal and neighbourhood, a low pressure area has formed over West Bengal and adjoining north Odisha and associated cyclonic circulation extends upto 5.8 km above mean sea level,” tweeted the IMD’s Regional Centre in Bhubaneswar.
