Heatwave to continue across 5 dist of Western Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Regional Meteorological Department has issued a heatwave warning across five districts of Western Odisha for next three days following the creation of a troughline in the western Bay of Bengal. Because of this, the heatwave is flowing from Southern Chattisgarh and Telangana to Odisha.

The heatwave conditions will continue for another three days in Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Bargarh and Nuapada. The Nor’westers or Kalbaishakhi rain is also predicted for the next five days.

While the rain will give some respite from the heat, the locals were also a given a precautionary advisory. The wind speed during the Nor’westers will touch about 40-50 kmph. The fisherfolks have also been advised to stay away from the water at this time.

Monsoons this year will reach Odisha on June 15 as it makes landfall in Kerala on June 4, informed Regional Meteorological Department.
