Heat Wave Warning Issued 11 Districts Of Odisha

Bhubaneswar: The Regional Meteorological Centre, Bhubaneswar issued a heatwave warning in Odisha today in which 11 districts of the state will be affected.

The heatwave condition is very likely to prevail over Sambalpur, Subarnapur, Sundargarh, Jharsuguda, Deogarh, Bargarh, Boudh, Bolangir, Keonjhar, Mayurbhanj, Angul districts of the state.

The temperature is unlikely to change over the next two days. The mercury will remain 3-5 degrees above normal in interior areas of the State.

Earlier on Thursday, the day temperature in many cities across the State crossed 40 degree Celsius. Boudh recorded 45.0 degree Celsius, which is not only the highest day temperature in Odisha yesterday, but is the highest maximum day temperature this year in Odisha.

As many as eight places in the State recorded day temperature more than 44 degree Celsius while 13 places recorded more than 43 degree Celsius. Besides, 25 places in Odisha recorded day temperature more than 40 degree Celsius.
