Heat wave: ‘Orange alert’ sounded in Odisha

The Met Department has sounded an orange-alert in Odisha on the prevailing intense heat wave conditions in the sate.

On Tuesday, nine places recorded temperatures of above 43 degrees Celsius. Titlagarh was the hottest town in the state at 46.5 followed by Balangir at 46.4 degrees. No less than 12 towns recorded temperature above 40 degrees.

The temperature in Bhubaneswar stood at 39 degrees whereas Cuttack recorded 38 degrees.
