Baripada: In an incident tarnishing the holy teacher-student relationship, a primary school headmaster has been accused of molesting a girl student of a school in Andola village under Nafri panchayat in Mayurbhanj district today. The accused was detained and roughed up by the villagers before being handed over to police.
The accused headmaster has been identified as Tapas Giri, headmaster of Andola Project UP School.
Giri was picked up from his school during the official hours this morning by the parents of a girl student who complained of sexual abuse in his hand. After dragging Giri out of the school, angry locals tied him to a poll in the village and thrashed brutally. He was detained for several hours.
The headmaster was freed from the clutches of the mob only after Bangiriposhi Police reached the village and intervened.
However, the headmaster, who is currently under police’s custody, has rubbished the allegation.
