Malkangiri: In a major breakthrough, Odisha police on Sunday arrested hardcore Maoist Laxman Podiami alias Laxman Kurami from Tulsi reserve forest area under Mathili police limits of Malkangiri district.
According to reports, the 28-year-old cadre red rebel, a native of Darva in Chhattisgarh’s Bastar district, was arrested during a search operation by the SOG and DVF last night.
Podiami had joined the Maoist group in the year 2017 and was working for the Mahupadar LGS under Kangerghati Area Committee of DKSZC. He was involved in many cases in Malkangiri district as well as Chhattisgarh.
Odisha government had announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh on his head.
