Hanuman Coin Racket Busted in Odisha, 3 Arrested

Malkangiri: Odisha police on Saturday busted a racket allegedly involved in illegal trade of Hanuman coins and three persons were arrested in this connection in Chitrakonda Sadar of Malkangiri district.

Based on reliable information, a team of Chitrakonda police led by IIC Surya Prakash Patnaik  raided the house of Mohan Trivedi at daily market in Chitrakonda Sadar and seized a double barrel gun, 50 antique copper coins, Hanuman coins, deer skin, valuable stones of different colours, Rs 12, 310, a two-wheeler, three mobile phones and ATM cards.

The police arrested the main accused Mohan Trivedi, a resident of Odisha and Itham Sethi Venkat Ramana and Krupabharam Tripalli of Almanchilli village in Andhra Pradesh.

All of the three were arrested on charges of selling Hanuman coins and possessing gun and deer skin.

A case has been registered against them at the Chitrakonda police station under Sections 417, 420 and 34 of IPC, Section 25 under Arms Act and Section 51 under the Wildlife Protection Act.
