Bhubaneswar: An assistant female professor of Odisha University of Agriculture & Technology (OUAT) has been found hanging in the staff quarter of the college in Bhubaneswar.
The deceased assistant female professor has been identified as Basanti Jena.
Reportedly, the authorities found her hanging from the fan of her quarter and informed the local police late on Thursday night.
On getting the information, the Khandagiri police immediately arrived at the spot and recovered the body.
The body has been sent for autopsy to Capital Hospital in Unit-6. It is being suspected that the reason behind her extreme step is some familial issue.
The Khandagiri police initiated an investigation into the matter. The actual cause behind the suicide is yet to be ascertained.
