Keonjhar: A total of seven people were injured following a group clash during the Holi celebration at Gadabandhagoda village under Ramchandrapur Police Station limits in Odisha’s Keonjhar district.
According to reports, members of a particular political party pelted stones at another group while they were playing Holi today. This led to a violent clash between the two groups.
A total of seven people, five from one group and two from another, were injured due to the group clash. All the injured persons were rushed to the Sainkul Hospital for treatment. Later, two of them were shifted to SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack as their condition deteriorated.
Meanwhile, the Sub-Divisional Police Officer and Ramchandrapur Police Station In-Charge have started an investigation into the matter, said sources.
The group clash is the outcome of political rivalry, which started during the recently concluded Panchayat election across the State, added the sources.
