Govt Offices to Remain Open on Second Saturday and Sunday in five cyclone affected districts

Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik today directed all government offices in the districts of Puri, Khordha, Cuttack, Kendrapara and Jagatsinghpur to remain open on May 11 and May 12 (second Saturday and Sunday) for relief and restoration work.

The five districts were the most affected in the cyclone Fani which hit the coast on May 3. While restoration of drinking water has almost completed in these affected districts, power supply is yet to resume in the affected districts.

The state government has earlier asked the concerned officials of these districts to complete restoration of power supply at the earliest possible. Meanwhile Odisha Renewable Energy Development Agency (OREDA) has also decided to distribute one lakh solar lanterns in cyclone affected districts.
