Google to launch Pixel 2, Pixel 2 XL on Oct 4

Pixel 2 AndroidBhubaneswar: Google is going to launch two new phones — a generic Pixel 2 and a big-screen Pixel 2 XL on Oct 4. The two devices, code named Walleye and Taimen, are being manufactured by HTC and LG, respectively.

The new Pixel 2 XL will follow the lead of 18:9 aspect ratio displays, while the Pixel 2 will come with a 5-inch full-HD display with an aspect ratio of 16:9.

Both the Google Pixel 2 series phones are said to be coming with 4 GB RAM, 64 GB/128 GB storage and Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 octa-core CPU.

Google Pixel 2 XL is said to have a 3,250mAh battery, 100mAh more than the first-generation model. On the other hand, the Pixel 2 will have a 2,700mAh cell as equal as its predecessor.

Although the cost of these devices is yet to be confirmed by the Google, a separate report has put a price tag for the new Pixel series.

According to Droid Life, the Pixel will be priced at $649 (around Rs. 42,000) for the 64 GB model and $749 (around Rs. 49,000) for the 128 GB version, while the Pixel 2 XL will be priced at $849 (around Rs. 55,750) and $949 (around Rs. 62,250) for the 64 GB and 128 GB versions respectively.

Last year, Google launched its first-ever android phones —Pixel and Pixel XL. Among other features, their camera scored the highest in the DXOMark ratings.
