Bhubaneswar: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has some good news for the people of the state. According to an IMD bulletin, several districts of Odisha may get respite from the sizzling heat as thunderstorms are likely to hit after April 21.

The high pressure that is persisting in Central India is expected to become weaker, following which it will reduce heat condition and then there will be drop in temperature.

The IMD has forecast thunderstorms with lightning at one or two places in the districts of Koraput, Malkangiri, Gajapati, Ganjam, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi ,Kandhamal, Rayagada on April 21.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 30-40kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Khordha, Malkangiri, Koraput, Rayagada, Kandhamal, Angul, Dhenkanal, Puri on April 22.

Thunderstorm with lightning and gusty surface wind with speed reaching up to 30-40kmph is very likely to occur at one or two places over the districts of Balasore, Bhadrak, Jajpur, Kendrapara, Cuttack, Jagatsinghpur, Puri, Khordha, Nayagarh, Ganjam, Gajapati, Rayagada, Malkangiri, Koraput, Kandhamal on Apil 23.
