Gold jewelry worth more than Rs 1 crore looted from bank in Odisha’s Dhenkanal

Dhenkanal: Armed miscreants looted gold jewelry worth more than Rs 1 crore along with cash from a bank in Dhenkanal district of Odisha on Wednesday. While the accused persons are yet to be nabbed or the looted jewelries are yet to be seized, Police investigation is underway.

As per reports, four miscreants went to the Utkal Gramya Bank’s Rasola branch in Hindola block of the district in two bikes. After entering into the bank premises, they allegedly frightened the employees and others present there exhibiting knives, Bhujali and palm punch weapon. They locked 2 staff of the bank in the strong room and looted gold jewelries worth more than Rs 1 crore, as reported. Following the crime, the miscreants fled from the scene along with the jewelry and cash.

As per reports, the miscreants have also looted Rs. 7 lakh cash.

The two bank officials are reportedly sustained simple injury. Later they were relieved from Rasola hospital after primary treatment.

Police investigation of the case is underway.
