Jharsuguda: A 19-year-old girl of Kheriakani village under Laikera police limits in Jharsuguda district died after her Nokia mobile phone exploded while she was talking on Friday afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Uma Oram.
Sources said, the incident happened when the girl was talking on mobile phone while the device was put on charging. She suffered burn injuries on her chest, hands and legs.
The girl was immediately rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital (DHH), where the doctors declared her brought dead.
The body has been sent for post-mortem and a case has been registered in this connection, Laikera police said.
