Rayagada: A girl allegedly committed suicide in the hostel room of a private engineering college in Gunupur at Rayagada district of Odisha.
The deceased has been identified as Swati Mishra. She was a B-Tech second year student in the private engineering college.
According to reports, Swati did not attend the college on the particular day whereas rest of her hostel roommates went for their regular classes.
Later after the classes her roommates knocked the room door as it was locked from inside. They immediately called the hostel authorities for help as Swati did not respond.
Thereafter when the authorities broke into the room, they found her hanging. They rushed her to the local hospital where the doctors pronounced her brought dead.
On getting the information the local police arrived at the spot and initiated a probe into the matter. However, the exact reason of her suicide is yet to be ascertained.
