Puri: Following the recovery of the ailing deities from the sickness caused by excessive bath during ‘Snana Purnima’ on June 14, the ‘Ghana Lagi’ ritual of the holy trinity will be performed at Srimandir today.
As per the ritual, ‘Ghana’ a medicinal oil prepared will be applied to the ‘Srianga’ the body of the deities by sevayats. This ritual is performed on the day of ‘Trayodashi Tithi’.
After the ‘Ghanalagi’ rituals, the servitors will take the ‘Khali Prasad’ specially prepared at their houses to Srimandir in a customary rally and offer that to the deities.
On ‘Chaturdashi’ tomorrow Datta Mohapatra servitors will perform the ‘Banak Lagi’ rituals of deities in the final phase to ‘Nabajoubana Darshan’.
