General Election 2019: Re-polling underway at 34 booths in Odisha today

Bhubaneswar: With the 7th phase voting of the ongoing General Election-2019 which is being held in 8 States of the country today, re-polling is also being held at 34 booths under 11 Lok Sabha constituencies of Odisha  today.

Long queues of voters were seen outside the polling centres where the re-poll is being held starting from the morning 7 am today. Women voters in large numbers were also seen in the queues.

Poling was started in a peaceful and hassle-free manner in Cuttack (5), Sambalpur (1), Puri (3), Dhenkanal (1), Keonjhar (1), Berhampur (1), Jajpur (9), Balasore (2),  Mayurbhanj (5),  Kendrapara (5) and Jagatsignpur (1) booths this morning amidst tight security arrangements taking into account the disturbances earlier.

Notably, irregularities had been reported during voting at 12 booths during 3rd phase and 22 booths during 4th election in Odisha post which the Election Commission has ordered for re-polling.

Notably, during the re-polling district administration had left no stone unturned in making security arrangements and installed CCTVs at all polling centres along with deployment of additional police forces.
