Ganjam: Badagada police last night seized ganja weighing over 3 tonnes while it was being transported to Bhubaneswar. Police have also arrested four persons in this connection.
Police said that the market value of the seized ganja would be Rs 1 crore. ‘The contraband was being smuggled to Bhubaneswar from Gajapati. The accused told that they were transporting the ganja during rains to avoid police suspicion,” said a police official.
Police have seized a mini truck, a pick-up van, one Hyundai car and one Bolero used for transporting the consignment. “ The accused are being further interrogated to ascertain the involvement of others in the crime,” added the police official.
