Paralakhemundi: Tightening the noose around the necks of illegal drug traders in the Gajapati district today, Adaba Police today arrested at least four peddlers in Mohana area and seized 82 kg of ganja (dry cannabis) for their possession.
A patrolling team of Adaba Police conducted the raid in Chudangapur village this morning after getting a tip-off on the presence of a group of peddlers along with ganja consignment. During the raid, the cops found several sacks of ganja kept near a forested area for transport and seized them.
Later, the accused peddlers identified as Satam Khan, Mizan Khan, Jahangir Sheikh and Musharraf Khan was taken into custody. All the accused are residents of West Bengal district.
Police said, the seized cannabis was being sent to the neighbouring West Bengal State from Berhampur via Chudangpur.
Further investigation is underway in the case.
